Introduction to Crafting
Learn how to build, run, and interpret Path of Exile 2 crafting workflows with the Path of Crafting simulator.
What is a crafting workflow?
A workflow is a map of a crafting plan. It starts with a base item, applies crafting actions, and uses checks to decide which path the item should follow. Each path ends at a Success or Failure output so the simulator can group and compare the results.
The simulator follows those connections once for every run. This lets you test a repeatable process many times without spending in-game currency.
Build your first workflow
- Choose a league. The league selector controls which item, modifier, and price data the simulator uses.
- Add a Base Item node.Drag it from the Node Library to the canvas, select it, and configure the item in the Inspector.
- Add a crafting action.Drag an Apply Currency node onto the canvas and select the currency you want to simulate.
- Connect the nodes.Draw connections from each node's output to the next step in the process.
- Define the outcome.Use a Logic node such as Mod Check to test the crafted item, then connect its paths to Success and Failure output nodes.
The node library at a glance
Choose the starting base or add a specific modifier and tier.
Apply a crafting currency or resolve a Desecrated modifier reveal.
Branch by modifiers, modifier count, quality, sockets, corruption, or unrevealed affixes.
Record success and failure results, or inspect an item before the workflow continues.
Use Note Groups to label and visually organize related parts of a workflow.
Run the simulation and read the results
Open Simulation Settings to choose the number of runs and the maximum steps allowed in each run, then select Run. The workflow is locked while results are retained so the plan cannot change underneath the simulation.
- Stats summarizes outcomes, costs, and their distribution across completed runs.
- Item Results lets you inspect the items produced at output and inspection nodes.
- Canvas paths show how frequently each connection was traversed.
Set the right expectations
Modifier weights are estimates derived from public trade listings, so simulation results are best used to compare plans rather than as exact guarantees. Some currencies and mechanics are not supported yet.
